In case there are any users of rentrez, the ROpenSci package for NCBI data, out there,
I am planning on submitting a new release to CRAN this week. The largest change is that the package will use httr::POST when sending many IDs to the NCBI. This should be seamless from a users point of view (and help with larger requests) but it is possible I have accidentally introduced changes that break particular use-cases.
If anyone has analyses or pipelines that make use of rentrez with a relatively large number of IDs (more than 200), I would appreciate you installing the developmental version and seeing if it breaks your code. It can be installed with install_github(“ropensci/rentrez”, ref=“develop”), and bugs/issues/questions are always welcome at https://github.com/ropensci/rentrez/issues
