In the scrubr package we are working on a set of tools to make it easy to clean occurrence data, which can be messy in lots of different ways.
One issue we’re dealing with is imprecise coordinates. There’s an open issue
https://github.com/ropenscilabs/scrubr/issues/18 in which we’re discussing all the useful ways to clean up imprecise coordinates.
In particular, there’s a question ( https://github.com/ropenscilabs/scrubr/issues/18#issuecomment-248186370 ) of whether users want to flag coordinate pairs in which both lat and long are imprecise or when one of the two is, or whether you’d like to be able to do both of those.
